Classes for all ages

Little Starters

Pre-Primary & Primary (Ages 4 to 8) / Once per week

Our youngest dancers explore ballet through imagination and play. They learn basic positions, simple steps, and how to move to music while developing coordination, posture, and confidence. Every class is designed to be fun and age-appropriate, building a foundation they'll carry forward as they grow.

These levels introduce the structure of ballet class in a gentle, encouraging way that makes children excited to return each week.

Rising Troupers

Grades 1–2 (Ages 8 to 10) / Twice per week

Students begin more structured training, learning fundamental techniques and simple combinations. We focus on building strength, flexibility, and body awareness while keeping movement enjoyable and accessible.

This is where ballet becomes more recognisable as a discipline - students work harder, but they also see real progress in what their bodies can do. Character dance is introduced, adding theatrical folk steps from classical ballets.

Shining Performers

Grades 3-5 (Ages 10 to 13) / Twice per week

Technique becomes more refined at these levels. Students tackle longer sequences, develop greater musicality, and begin to understand ballet as an expressive art form, not just a set of movements to master.

By Grade 5, dancers have built solid technical foundations and are ready for the increased demands of vocational training.

Dedicated Artists

Intermediate Foundation & Intermediate

(Ages 13 to 16) / Twice per week

These vocational levels require commitment - students are expected to bring focus and discipline to every class. We work on advanced technical concepts: intricate footwork, refined port de bras (arm movements), complex rhythmic patterns, and performance quality.

This is serious training for serious students. Dancers develop the stamina, precision, and artistry needed for advanced work, and begin to understand ballet vocabulary at a professional level.

Note: Students entering these levels are assessed for readiness to ensure they have the technical foundation to progress safely.

Young Virtuosos

Advanced Foundation & Advanced 1–2

(Ages 16+) / Three times per week

The highest RAD levels focus on mastery. Students refine every aspect of classical technique - alignment, turnout, musicality, expression - and work toward the performance standards expected of pre-professional dancers.

Whether students plan to pursue dance professionally or simply want to achieve the highest level of training, these classes demand excellence while celebrating how far each dancer has come.

Note: Entry to these levels requires assessment of technical readiness and commitment level.

Exploring a professional path?

Some students begin to consider ballet as more than a passion - they wonder if it could be a career. For dancers ready to pursue this seriously, I offer private coaching alongside regular classes.

One-on-one sessions allow us to:

  • Refine technique with personalised attention
  • Build strength, flexibility, and performance confidence
  • Prepare for auditions, intensives, or vocational school applications
  • Develop the discipline and work ethic professional training demands

Private coaching isn't for everyone, and it's not required to progress through RAD levels. But for students with professional ambitions, it can make the crucial difference.

Questions about placement?

Not sure which level suits your child? Every student is different - some start later, some progress faster, some simply want to dance recreationally without examinations. I'm happy to discuss your child's experience, goals, and the best starting point for them.
